1023 Angel Number: Four Different Digits, No Repeats

1023 angel number in numerology: the smallest four-digit number with four different digits, one less than 1024, reduced to 6, with Sepharial and Decoz.

Last updated September 30, 2026

Angel number 1023 has four different digits, and that is its main feature. The sections below give the digit entries from the tradition and then the sums, as a prompt for reflection, without any claim about what a sighting is supposed to mean for someone.

Four Digits, None Repeated

Most of the numbers in this series repeat a digit or a pair. 1023 does not: it has a 1, a 0, a 2 and a 3, each once. It is the smallest four-digit number for which that is true, since every number from 1000 to 1022 has a repeat.

Sepharial (1911) describes the 1 as the symbol of the Sun, and he says the 0 “stands for infinity, the Infinite boundless Being”. For the 2 he writes “The number of antithesis; also of witness and confirmation.” For the 3 his line is “The trilogy; the trinity of life, substance, and intelligence”. Hans Decoz’s modern entry gives the 2 as “subtle, gentle, diplomatic, sensitive, and cooperative”. His picture of the 3 is “a gifted teenager”. The digits 1, 2 and 3 come in counting order here, with the zero tucked in after the first.

What the Number Adds Up To

The total, 6

The four digits sum to 6, and the running total never touches a master number. Sepharial gives the 6 the planet Venus and the words “The number of co-operation.” Decoz’s entry says “The most important influence of the 6 is its loving and caring nature.” For a 6 that comes from a date of birth, see life path number 6.

The halves

Split after two digits, the number gives 10 and 23, which reduce to 1 and 5. Those add to 6 as well, matching the whole. In factors, 1023 is 3 x 11 x 31, and its backward form, 3201, is a separate number.

One short of a power

1023 is 2^10 minus 1, one below 1,024. This is a fact of arithmetic and not of numerology, and it has nothing to do with the digits themselves.

A product of two neighbors of 32

1023 is also 31 x 33, the two odd numbers on either side of 32, which is why it is one below a power of two: 32 squared is 1,024. The 33 in that product is the same 33 that numerologists keep as a master number, but here it is only a factor, and it plays no part in the digit sum.

The one small coincidence

Leave the zero aside and the remaining digits are 1, 2 and 3. Added, they make 6, and multiplied, they also make 6, which is true of no other set of three different positive whole numbers. The zero contributes nothing to either operation, so it does not disturb the match.

Clock and date

A 12-hour dial reaches 10:23 twice a day, at twenty-three minutes past ten, and a 24-hour one shows the morning time as 10:23 and the evening time as 22:23. US month-first dating gives October 23 as 10/23.

Where to Go Next

Each of the three working digits stands alone in 111, 222 and 333, and the wider sequences are gathered on the repeating numbers page.

The Reduced 6 Across Real Dates

Run through the calculator, 10.24% of the 21,915 days from 1950 to 2009 land on a life path 6. In 2027, 11.48% of the 366 possible birthdays carry a personal year 6.

Questions people ask

In numerology it is four different digits, 1, 0, 2 and 3, that add up to 6. Sepharial and Decoz describe each digit and the 6, but not 1023 as a unit. This page therefore describes the parts and the sum and does not assign a message to the whole.

Numbers from 1000 to 1022 all repeat a digit, because each has a second 0, 1 or 2. 1023 is the first one whose four digits are all different. Only a four-digit number without a repeat can be in this position, so the next such numbers are 1024, 1025 and so on.

Yes. 1024 is 2 multiplied by itself ten times, and 1023 is that minus one. In binary it is ten 1s in a row. That is a fact from computing and arithmetic. Numerology's tradition does not treat it as a meaning, so it is noted here only as a property of the number.

In the morning, yes: 10:23 is 10:23 on both displays. In the evening the 24-hour clock writes 22:23 instead. So the four digits 1023 appear once a day on a 24-hour clock and twice a day on a 12-hour one, since the 12-hour dial reuses the hour.
