The year 2027 reduces to 2 (its digits give 11, then 2). Add that to your reduced month and day. In 2027 every personal year 3 comes from a total of exactly 12: a plain 3 is too small to reach, since the smallest possible total is 4, and 21 is too large.

Two worked examples
Someone with a fictional birthday of June 13: June is 6, the day is 1 + 3 = 4, and 6 + 4 + 2 = 12, which reduces to 1 + 2 = 3.

The personal year 2 that precedes a 3 is read as patient and relational, a year of cooperation and gradual growth. The 3 inherits whatever took root in that quieter time.
The personal year 4 that follows asks for structure and steady effort. Numerologists see it as the point where the ideas of the first three years are given practical form.
Does the 3 Start in January?
In Starvela’s method it does, because we follow the calendar-year school that Decoz also uses, where personal years “run concurrent with the calendar year”. Some numerologists prefer to start each personal year on the birthday, which would move the opening of a 3 year to whatever day you were born. Neither school changes the number itself, only the date it takes over.
