Angel number 505 has a 5 on each side of a zero. People type it as 505, as 0505 in four digits, as 05 05 when they remember two pairs, and as 05:05 when it appears on a clock. The sections below cover what numerology’s tradition says about the digits, including a zero that has its own historical entry, then the arithmetic, the clock time and one fact from outside numerology. This is a page for reflection, and it predicts nothing.
An Empty Middle Between Two Fives
Sepharial’s The Kabala of Numbers (1911) is the only source for the 0 here. His statement is that “0 stands for infinity, the Infinite boundless Being”. He also calls the 0 “the fons et origo of all things”. His summary of the digit is “the universal paradox”. The modern side is silent on the 0 in our sources, so there is nothing of Decoz’s to set beside Sepharial’s.
The 5 on each side has two voices. Sepharial links it with Jupiter and sums it up with the word expansion, and Decoz says it is “the most dynamic and energetic of all the single-digit numbers”. So 505 is two expanding, energetic digits around an empty center, in the sense of the entries set side by side. The arrangement is ours, and neither writer described it.
A zero that joins the ends
Sepharial makes a remark about where the zero stands in a written number, saying “the cypher is put last, so that the first and last are brought together to form 10, the perfect number in the decimal system”. In 505 the 0 is in the middle and not last, so the remark does not describe the digits. The digits do still total 10, which is our own observation.
Five, Nothing, Five, Makes One
A 5 and another 5 make 10, and the 0 changes nothing, so 505 goes to 10 and then to 1 (1 + 0). Ten is not in the master set, and it is not among the four karmic debt totals either. The 1 is where the entries end: Sepharial gives it the Sun and calls it “the ego, self-assertion, positivism”, and Decoz describes a personality that is “strong, individualistic and goal-oriented”.
There is an older layer as well. Balliett, in 1908, reports that Pythagoras considered 1 to be a number with a mystical character, because it begins the Hebrew alphabet. The life path number 1 page gives the modern description.
Factors, and the Two Clock Faces
Factored, 505 is 5 x 101, with 101 prime, and reversed it is 505, a palindrome. Its relatives are close: 202 is 2 x 101 and 303 is 3 x 101, so the whole family of x0x numbers is a multiple of 101 by the first digit, and 505 is the fifth member of it.
The clock gives 5:05 twice a day on a 12-hour dial, and 05:05 once a day on a 24-hour display. That is five minutes past five, so the 5 of the hour and the 5 of the minutes are separated by the 0 of the tens place.
A Code for New Mexico
Wikipedia’s list of North American area codes assigns 505 to “New Mexico”, and names Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Farmington and Gallup. The same entry dates it to 1947, when it was “Created for all of New Mexico”. Nothing in the digit tradition connects to this, and the code exists for phone routing.
Numbers Close to 505
Angel number 555 is the all-5 number, and angel number 550 shifts the zero to the end. The larger family is at repeating numbers.
Ones in the Sample
Dates that end on a life path 1 make up 11.11% of the 21,915 we generated for 1950 to 2009.
Questions people ask
In numerology it is two 5s with a 0 between them, and the digits add up to 10, then 1. Sepharial described the 0 and the 1, and Decoz the 5 and the 1. Neither wrote about 505 itself, so the meaning of a sighting is left entirely to the reader.
The digits are the same with a leading zero in front, which is how a 24-hour clock writes the early morning time 05:05. Sepharial and Decoz record no separate entry for a leading zero, so the tradition's descriptions of the 5 and the 0 apply to either form.
They hold the same four digits, 0, 5, 0 and 5, and differ only in how they are grouped. 05 05 is two pairs, and 05:05 is an hour and minutes. On a 24-hour display the time appears once a day, and on a 12-hour dial it shows as 5:05 twice a day.
