Angel Number 4848: A 4 and Its Double, Repeated

Angel number 4848 in numerology: a 4 and its double 8 twice, halves that pass 12 to reach 3, a whole that passes 24 and ends on 6, with Sepharial and Decoz.

Last updated September 30, 2026

Angel number 4848 pairs a 4 with its own double, an 8, and repeats them. The sum then runs through 12 in each half and 24 in the whole before settling on a 3 and a 6, and the sources on the 8 pull in opposite directions. This page follows that working, sets out what Sepharial in 1911 and Hans Decoz wrote, and offers descriptions of digits that point at no one’s future.

Reality and Dissolution

The digits run 4, 8, 4, 8, so the 4 leads each half, the 8 follows, and in every step the second digit is exactly twice the first.

Sepharial, in The Kabala of Numbers (1911), puts the 4 under Mercury as a matter of reality and concretion, and he calls the 8 “The number of dissolution.” under Uranus. Hans Decoz writes that the 4 is “reflecting strength and stability”, and his heading on the 8 reads “8: BALANCE & POWER”.

Two eras, one sharp contrast

In the 1911 pair, a statement of what is concrete sits beside a statement of what comes apart. In the modern pair, a grounded figure sits beside a heading about balance and power. The first pair pulls apart in a way that the second does not, since concrete and dissolving are opposites while grounded and balanced are allies. Neither author gives a rule for a number in which the two alternate, so a reading of 4848 has to choose between them and say which it chose.

Twelve, Twenty-Four, and Then a 3 and a 6

The half 48 is worth 4 + 8 = 12, which shrinks to 3 in each half. The four digits together reach 4 + 8 + 4 + 8 = 24, and 2 + 4 leaves 6. As a chain, with masters kept, it goes 4848, then 24, then 6. No master number shows up, and neither 12 nor 24 belongs to the karmic debt list.

Two 3s add to 6, so the halves and the whole agree. Neither 3 nor 6 is printed in the number, which means both entries describe stages of the sum and not digits you can see.

Two quiet digits at the end

For the 3, Sepharial has Mars and a trinity, and Decoz has a teenager still under the protection of parents. For the 6, Sepharial has co-operation and Venus, while Decoz points to “its loving and caring nature.”

Sixteen Times Three Times 101

The half, 48, is 16 x 3, which means it is 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 3, and so 4848 factors as 2 to the fourth power times 3 times 101. That gives the whole number twenty divisors, which is a long list for a four-digit figure, and it comes from the repeated 2. The prime 2 appears four times, and it is also the factor that turns the 4 into the 8. Numerology’s digit method does not use factors, and the paragraph is arithmetic alone.

The doubling shows up once more in the chain, since 12 is 4 + 8 and 24 is twice 12. The working goes 4, 8, 12, 24 by repeated addition and doubling, which is a pattern in the numbers and not a statement from any tradition.

In reverse the number becomes 8484, handled at angel number 8484.

Nothing on the Dial

A clock has no 48:48, because a 24-hour day ends at 23:59 and the 12-hour dial at 12. Times that use the same digits in other arrangements exist, such as 4:48 and 8:48 on any display and 20:48 in the evening on a 24-hour one, but none is the repeated pair. Nor is there a US date that spells it. So 4848 is a number for a bill, an address or a reference, and not for a time.

Of the 21,915 calendar dates from 1950-01-01 to 2009-12-31 that we tallied, 10.24% give a life path 6. The birth-date meaning of that digit is on the page for life path number 6, and it is not the same as the 6 at the end of this chain.

Questions people ask

Numerology reads it as a 4 and an 8 repeated, with halves that pass 12 to reach 3 and a whole that passes 24 to reach 6. The sources describe the 4, the 8 and the 6, and have no entry for the pair, so any meaning you find on noticing it is your own reflection.

It is a 4 and an 8 written twice, adding to 24 and then 6. Sepharial and Decoz describe the digits one at a time, and they disagree about the 8. No source we use describes 4848 as a pair, and nothing here says what a sighting holds for a reader.

Only because 4 x 2 is 8. The relationship is arithmetic. It is also the reason 48 is a multiple of 16 and the whole number has so many divisors. Sepharial and Decoz do not link the two digits in their entries, and the doubling is our observation.

Not as 48:48, since hours end at 23 and minutes at 59. A display can show 4:48 or 8:48, which use three of the four digits, and in the evening 20:48. None of these is the repeated pair, which is met on receipts, addresses and references.
