331 Angel Number: March 31, a Prime and a Seven

An Unusual Date for a Number

Start with the calendar, since it is the one place where 331 behaves as a date and not just as a string. March is the third month, and March 31 is its last day, so the month takes the first 3 and the day takes the second 3 and the 1. The two threes are in fact the month and the tens of the day. That overlap is a property of the calendar, and it is ours to note, not a statement from either numerology author. No other split of the digits gives a valid month and day in US order, so March 31 is the only date that 331 can stand for, and it is also the date on which a 31-day month ends.

As a time of day it is 3:31, which crosses a 12-hour dial twice in 24 hours and a 24-hour readout, as 03:31, once.

The Threes and the One

For the 3, Sepharial’s 1911 entry begins “The trilogy” and is linked to Mars. Decoz writes of a gifted teenager, one still under parental protection. The one that follows belongs to the Sun in Sepharial’s scheme, and he words it as self-assertion and positivism. Decoz calls its personality goal-oriented. Balliett’s 1908 summary adds that Pythagoras saw 1 and 22 as numbers of mystical character, tied to the ends of the Hebrew alphabet.

Put together, a pair of threes is followed by a single one at the end. The shape is a pair and a single, with the single last, which is the reverse of a number such as 133, where the single comes first. That is a statement about position, and neither author assigns a reading to the order. The same two digits appear in 313, and there the one sits in the middle with a three on each side.

Why the Total Is 7

Our sum is 3 + 3 + 1 = 7, and the chain needs no second step. The 7 is “The number of completion” for Sepharial, tied to Saturn, and for Decoz it is the seeker, thinker, the searcher of Truth. The face of 331 shows no 7 at all; the digit exists only as the result of the addition.

331 is a prime, with just two divisors. Its mirror image, 133, is a different number with a page at angel number 133.

The 331 Area Code

Wikipedia’s list of North American area codes gives 331 to Aurora, Naperville, Oswego and other western suburbs of Chicago, in Illinois. The list dates it to October 7, 2007 and says it was overlaid on 630. That is telephone history, separate from numerology, and it explains why many people know 331 only as a place.
